We
have some fun events going on this summer.
The Atlanta Braves are sponsoring a Stitch N' Pitch day at Turner
Field. For just $13 you can join your fellow quilters and knitters
on Sunday, July 15th at 1:05PM to see the Braves play the Pirates.
This is a family affair, so the more the merrier. Bring your family,
friends, anyone you think of who'd enjoy an afternoon watching a
Braves game. And this year, we will even be sitting in the shade!!
The Braves are being great; they're giving us the expensive seats
for just a couple of dollars more then a regularly priced seat.
You can purchase your tickets here at the store or you can order
them directly from the Braves by calling 404)577-9100. Just be sure
to mention Stitch N' Pitch to get the special pricing! This is something
you don't want to miss out on. Also, just in case you needed more
encouragement, the first 1000 tickets purchased will receive a tote
bag full of goodies. We know it won't be Johnny Depp, but come join
us to watch the Braves battle the Pirates.
To all you book lovers out there, Martingale is offering a program
card that will entitle you to receive a free book. For every 9 books
you purchase, you get your card stamped, once it is full, you mail
it to Martingale and they mail you the book of your choice. We have
all the new releases from Martingale to help inspire your projects.
And it doesn't matter if it's knitting or quilting book, they all
count. And too really jump start this off with a bang, if you've
bought a Martingale book here in the last 2 months, we'll give you
credit and stamp your card for it. Just bring in your book and receipt,
that's all you need to do. We'll honor the back stamping until July
15. I've talked to them, and they say they don't see an end in sight
for this program, so come in and start getting your card stamped
now; because you know there's a book you've been wanting…..
It is Time for the Kaufman Challenge again. The 2007 Quilt Quest
uses Tuscan Wildflower which is a beautiful almost oriental line.
This year they have added a handbag and a Miniature Quest. Entries
must be made exclusively using Robert Kaufman fabrics, but after
that "anything goes". We have the entry forms and the
complete contest rules here at the store, or you can find them on
the Robert Kaufman website as well.
Our summer class schedule is available. We have some new ones as
well as some old favorites, such as the Crayon Box Jacket. That's
right knitters, its scary the heat hasn't even really descended
upon us yet, and its time to start thinking of long sleeves, unless
you are one of the really lucky knitters who knit so quickly, and
you know who you are! For the rest of us who it may take a couple
of months it's not a bad idea to start knitting a winter project
about mid way through the summer.

The Second
Annual Stitch N' Pitch
STITCH N' PITCH brings together two American traditions - Baseball
and the Fiber Arts. Come to a Ball Game and knit, crochet, quilt,
appliqué, embroider, cross-stitch and needlepoint. Sit among
friends, family and colleagues and cheer on the Braves.
Sunday July 15, 2007 1:05 PM Pirates vs Braves
What better a summer pastime can you think of? This
year we will be seated in the Terrace Pavillion, which is covered,
so rain or shine we will be comfortable! Tickets will be available
to purchase in a few weeks. To save yourself some hassle you can
even pick up the tickets and even parking passes here at the store
while you are shopping. Can't get much easier then that. Already
a season Ticket holder? No Problem, you can still participate and
get your tote bag of goodies with no additional cost. That's Right,
I forgot to tell you what a great deal you will getting. The Atlanta
Braves are being very generous with us. Tickets should be around
$13 give or take for sitting in the Pavilion and each ticket holder
will be given a tote bag filled with great stuff - yarn, needles,
patterns, etc. When bringing friends and relatives who don't knit,
crochet or quilt you get their tote bags too! You can stock up!
For more information or to get your tickets call the store at 706.867.8918
or you can even go to the Braves webpage and follow the link to
Stitch N' Pitch and get your tickets there as well.
Please join us for a great game and help support the craft you love
so well. This is a great way to spread the word about what we love.
There will even be teaching tables there as well before the game
to spread our addiction to the other 35,000 fans there!

6 dozen Ritz crackers
¼ tsp. peppermint extract
Creamy peanut butter

Directions
Melt chocolate chips
in microwave on high for 3 minutes, or until melted. Add peppermint
